Happy Naw-Ruz - The Baha'i New Year

Baha'i World News
On March 21, Baha'is around the world will mark Naw-Ruz - their new year - a date that this year coincides with the 100th anniversary of the interment of the remains of the Bab on Mount Carmel.
On Naw-Ruz in 1909, 'Abdu'l-Baha, then the head of the Baha'i Faith, laid to rest the mortal remains of the Bab. 'Abdu'l-Baha personally placed the precious trust in its place in a building he had had constructed on Mount Carmel in Haifa.
The original structure was later surrounded by a formal colonnade and crowned with a golden dome to make it a fitting burial site for the Bab, the first of two Messengers of God associated with the Baha'i Faith. Both lived in the 19th century, with the Bab's mission being to announce the imminent coming of Baha'u'llah, considered by Baha'is the long-awaited promised one of all religions.
The Bab was executed in the public square in Tabriz, Persia (now Iran), in 1850, and His remains were hidden in that country for nearly 50 years until being secretly brought to the Holy Land and hidden another decade before being laid to their final rest.
Baha'u'llah was also from Persia but was banished from His native land and eventually exiled to the Acre-Haifa area. Before His passing in 1892, Baha'u'llah gave instructions to 'Abdu'l-Baha to have the remains of the Bab brought from Persia and interred at a specific site on Mount Carmel.
'Abdu'l-Baha thus arranged for the purchase of the land; the building of an adequate structure for the interment; and a road to the site on what at that time was still a rough, undeveloped mountainside. The Baha'is of Rangoon, Burma, sent a sarcophagus to use for the entombment.
The circumstances of that significant event 100 years ago are described in the Baha'i history "God Passes By":
"'Abdu'l-Baha had the marble sarcophagus transported with great labor to the vault prepared for it, and in the evening, by the light of a single lamp, he laid within it, with his own hands - in the presence of believers from the East and from the West and in circumstances at once solemn and moving - the wooden casket containing the sacred remains of the Bab. ..."

تزامن نيروز هذا العام مع الذّكرى المئويّة لدفن رفات حضرة الباب على جبل الكرمل

اليوم الموافق 21 آذار/ مارس يشير البهائيون في جميع أنحاء العالم إلى يوم النّوروز- رأس سنتهم- على أنّه تاريخ يتزامن هذا العام مع الذّكرى المئويّة لدفن رفات حضرة الباب على جبل الكرمل.
ففي نوروز عام 1909، قام حضرة عبدالبهاء، مرجع البهائيين من بعد حضرة بهاءالله، بوضع رفات حضرة الباب في مثواها الأخير. وأودع حضرته بنفسه تلك الوديعة الثّمينة في مرقدها في مبنى كان قد شيّده على جبل الكرمل في حيفا.
وفي وقت لاحق، تمّ إحاطة المبنى الأصلي بالأعمدة وتوّج بقبّة ذهبيّة ليكون مرقدّا لائقًا بالباب، أوّل الرّسولين المرتبطين بالدّين البهائي. وقد عاش كلّ منهما في القرن التّاسع عشر، وكانت مهمّة الباب الإعلان عن قرب مجيء بهاءالله الذي يعتبره البهائيّون موعود جميع الأديان الذي طال انتظاره.

أُعدم الباب عام 1850 في ساحة عامّة في تبريز في بلاد فارس (إيران حاليًّأ) ، وكانت رفاته مخبّأة في تلك البلاد نحو 50 عامًا، حتّى تمّ إحضارها سرًّا إلى الأرض المقدّسة حيث خُبّئت عقدًا آخر قبل أن تستقرّ في مقامها الأخير.

كان حضرة بهاءالله من بلاد فارس أيضًا، لكنّه أُبعد عن وطنه الأصلي وفي نهاية المطاف نفي إلى منطقة عكا وحيفا. وقبل صعوده في عام 1892، وجّه عبدالبهاء لإحضار رفات الباب من بلاد فارس ودفنه في موقع معيّن على جبل الكرمل. وعليه، رتّب عبدالبهاء لشراء الأرض، وتشييد بناء ذو هيكل مناسب للدّفن، وشقِّ طريق تؤدّي إلى الموقع الذي كان لا يزال في ذلك الوقت منطقة جبليّة وعرة. وأرسل بهائيّو رانجون في بورما تابوتًا مرمريًا ليتم استخدامه للدّفن.
:وُصفت الظّروف التي واكبت هذا الحدث الهام قبل 100 عام في كتاب التّاريخ البهائي “القرن البديع” بما يلي

“أمر حضرة عبدالبهاء بنقل التّابوت المرمري بجهد فائق إلى القبو المعدّ له، وفي المساء وضع فيه بيديه التّابوت الخشبي الحاوي لرفات حضرة الباب المقدّسة ورفات رفيقه، ولقد تمّ ذلك في ضوء قنديل واحد وعلى مشهد من أحبّاء الشّرق الغرب في احتفال جليل محرّك للمشاعر والوجدان.”

عيد النيروز - 166 بديع

يحتفل البهائيون فى جميع انحاء العالم الليلة 20 مارس بعيد النيروز. وهي كلمة باللغة الفارسية تعنى (اليوم الجديد). وهذا العيد احد تسعة ايام يحرم فيها العمل. ويوافق هذا العيد بداية فصل الرّبيع فى كل عام.

ان عيد النيروز هو عيد رأس السنة البهائية، حيث تستند السنة البهائية الى السنة الشمسية. فتتكون من 19 شهر كلٍ منها 19 يوماً (مجموعها361 يوم)، اما الاربع او الخمسة ايام الباقية فهي اعياد ايام الهاء التي تقع مابين الشهر الثامن عشر والتاسع عشر( شهر الصوم) الذى ينتهي بعيد النيروز

يتفضل حضرة بهاء الله - في الكتاب الاقدس ، فقرة111- عن عيد النيروز الذي يقع في اليوم الاول من الشهر الاول واسمه البهاء

طُوبَى لِمَنْ فَازَ بِاليَومِ الأَوَّلِ مِنْ شَهْرِ البَهآءِ الَّذِي جَعَلَهُ اللهُ لِهَذَا الأسْمِ العَظِيمِ، طُوبَى لِمَنْ يُظْهِرُ فِيهِ نِعْمَةَ اللهِ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ إِنَهُ مِمَّنْ أَظْهَرَ شُكْرَ اللهِ بِفِعْلِهِ المُدِلِّ عَلَى فَضْلِهِ الَّذِي أَحَاطَ العَالَمِينَ. قُلْ إِنَّهُ لَصَدْرُ الشُّهُورِ وَمَبْدَئُهُا وَفِيه تَمُرُّ نَفْحَةُ الحَيَاةِ عَلَى المُمكِنَاتِ طُوبَى لِمَنْ أَدْرَكَه بِالرَّوْحِ وَالرَّيْحانِ نَشْهَدُ أَنَّه مِنَ الفَاِئزِينَ

تقام الاحتفالات بدون طقوس معينة، فقط لابد من تلاوة المناجاة الخاصة بالعيد ،و محاولة خدمة جميع البشر كلٍ بطريقته الخاصة. فقد يقوم المجتمع البهائي بمدينة ما بانشاء مدرسة لتعليم الاطفال أو يتبرع مجتمع آخر بطعام للمحتاجين وغيرها من الاعمال الخيرية

My God, my Fire and my Light! The days which Thou hast named the Ayyám-i-Há * in Thy Book have begun, O Thou Who art the King of names, and the fast which Thy most exalted Pen hath enjoined unto all who are in the kingdom of Thy creation to observe is approaching. I entreat Thee, O my Lord, by these days and by all such as have during that period clung to the cord of Thy commandments, and laid hold on the handle of Thy precepts, to grant that unto every soul may be assigned a place within the precincts of Thy court, and a seat at the revelation of the splendors of the light of Thy countenance.
These, O my Lord, are Thy servants whom no 237 corrupt inclination hath kept back from what Thou didst send down in Thy Book. They have bowed themselves before Thy Cause, and received Thy Book with such resolve as is born of Thee, and observed what Thou hadst prescribed unto them, and chosen to follow that which had been sent down by Thee.
Thou seest, O my Lord, how they have recognized and confessed whatsoever Thou hast revealed in Thy Scriptures. Give them to drink, O my Lord, from the hands of Thy graciousness the waters of Thine eternity. Write down, then, for them the recompense ordained for him that hath immersed himself in the ocean of Thy presence, and attained unto the choice wine of Thy meeting.
I implore Thee, O Thou the King of kings and the Pitier of the downtrodden, to ordain for them the good of this world and of the world to come. Write down for them, moreover, what none of Thy creatures hath discovered, and number them with those who have circled round Thee, and who move about Thy throne in every world of Thy worlds.
Thou, truly, art the Almighty, the All-Knowing, the All-Informed.

Happy Thanksgiving

Magnified be Thy name, O Lord my God,

Magnified be Thy name, O Lord my God, inasmuch as Thou hast inclined mine ear to Thy voice, and called me to Thyself, and opened mine eyes to gaze on Thy beauty, and illumined my heart with Thy knowledge, and sanctified my breast from the doubts of the infidels in Thy days. I am the one, O my God, who lay fast asleep on his couch, when lo, the messengers of Thy manifold mercies were sent down upon me by Thee, and the gentle winds of Thy 122 loving-kindness blew over me, and roused me up, and caused me to set my face towards the sanctuary of Thy knowledge, and to fix mine eyes upon the splendors of the light of Thy face.

I am but a poor creature, O my Lord! Behold me clinging to the hem of Thy riches. I have fled from darkness and from waywardness unto the brightness of the light of Thy countenance. Were I—and to this Thy glory beareth me witness—to render thanksgiving unto Thee, through the whole continuance of Thy kingdom and the duration of the heaven of Thine omnipotence, I would still have failed to repay Thy manifold bestowals.

I implore Thee, O my Lord, by Thy name, the Ever-Abiding, and by Thy name which Thou didst ordain to be the most great Instrument binding Thee to Thy servants, to grant that I may flee for shelter to Thy door, and speak forth Thy praise. يحتفل جميع البهائيون فى انحاء العالم اليوم بيوم الميثاق وهو من الاعياد البهائية التي لا يحرم فيها العمل

:يوم الميثاق

عانت الاديان السابقة من الانقسامات والتحزب والتشيع وذلك بسبب عدم وجود وصية تعيين بوضوح القائم بالولاية بعد وفاة المظهر الالهي . الا ان الدين البهائي تميز بوضوح لا يقبل الشك فى هذا الموضوع. فقد كتب حضرة بهاء الله وصيته قبل وفاته وعين ابنه الارشد حضرة عبد البهاء ليكون مركزا لعهده وميثاقه وممثلاً لتعاليمه والمبين الوحيد لآياته وآثاره وكلماته. كما أوصى جميع البهائيين بطاعته والرجوع اليه فيما استصعب عليهم من الامور واعتباره المثل الاعلى لهم

إِذا غِيضَ بحرُ الوِصَال، وقُضي كتاب المبدأ في المآل، توجّهوا الى من أراده الله الذي انشعب من هذا الأصل القديم. وقد كان المقصود من هذه الآية المباركة الغصن الأعظم

نبذة تاريخية
:مولده وعائلته

ولد حضرة عبد البهاء واسمه الحقيقي عباس افندي يوم 23 مايو 1844م - فى نفس الليلة التى اعلن فيها حضرة الباب دعوته - فى ايران. وهو ابن حضرة بهاء الله المظهر الالهي للديانة البهائية. اما والدته فهى السيدة آسيا خانم سليلة اعرق وانبل اسر ايران

:حياته وصفاته
تميز منذ طفولته بحميد الخصال والذكاء والكرم والتحمل حيث ابتدأت معاناته وهو فى سن التاسعة حينما صاحب والده فى سجنه ونفيه وآلامه نتيجة لاصراره على تبليغ رسالة الله - الدين البهائي - الى العالم.
اما فى شبابه فقد تميز بعلم غزير وحجة بالغة وبيان بليغ ،وجلال وهيبة، وسرور روحاني لا يقارن يجعله يغمر الجميع على السواء بمحبتة الفائقة ، ويقوم على خدمتهم بنفسه بمنتهى التواضع، كما كان دائم السعي لعمل الخير.كل هذه الخصال جعلته يكسب احترام وتقدير جميع معاصريه.

بعد قيام ثورة تركيا الفتاة وسقوط الامبراطورية العثمانية عام 1908 تم اطلاق سراح حضرته . فقام على تبليغ رسالة والده "الديانة البهائية" الى العالم . وسافر الى العديد من الدول كمصر وفرنسا والولايات المتحدة بهدف ترويج المبادئ البهائية التى تحث على السلام والمحبة ووحدة العالم الانساني.

:صعوده

توفي حضرته يوم 28 نوفمبر 1921 فى منزله بفلسطين عن عمر يناهز السابعة والسبعين. شيع جنازته الالوف من سكان فلسطين الفقراء والاغنياء ،ومن مختلف الطوائف والمذاهب والنحل والملل. كما شارك ايضا جمع من رجال الاديان المختلفة الذين طالما سعى حضرته لنثر المحبة والوفاق بينهم. وتبارى الادباء والعلماء فى رثاء حضرته

هو الله

إلهي إلهي أيد الاحباء على الحب والولاء مع كل الملل والاقوام التى على الثرى واجعلهم آيات الهدى ورايات رحمتك بين الورى ومصابيح الفضل والجود وأشجار حديقة الوجود. رب نور وجوههم بأنوار التوجه إليك وزين قلوبهم بالتوكل عليك وأيدهم على الركوع والسجود بين يديك، حتى يرتلوا آيات التوحيد في محافل الهدى ويرتفع ضجيجهم بالتهليل والتكبير إلى الملأ الاعلى. انك انت مؤيد من تشاء على ما تشاء، إنك انت القوي القدير.

التسامح واحترام الآخرين

ان البشر مختلفين ومتنوعين وكل منهم يحمل صفات وخواص مختلفة عن صفاتنا وخواصنا، فمنهم الاسمر أوالابيض ، ومنهم الطويل أو الرفيع،ومنهم الرجل أوالمرأة، ومنهم الضرير أوالمبصر ،ومنهم المقعد أوالصحيح، ومنهم سريع البديهة اوبطئ الفهم، ومنهم المتدين او اللاديني .....الخ
التسامح وتحمل الآخرين ، يعنى ان نحترم هذا الاختلاف والتنوع فى البشر، فندرك اننا جميعا كالازهار الجميلة كلٍ منا له جماله الخاص.

"كلكم ازهار حديقة واحدة واوراق غصن واحد"

كما ان التسامح واحترام الآخرين يعنى ايضاً ان نتقبل الاشياء او الصفات التى لا تعجبنا فيهم ايماناً منا ان كل انسان به حسنات وسيئات وعلينا ان نركز نظرنا على حسناته بدلا من تصيد اخطائه

"علينا ان نتحرى حسنات النفوس وان لا نتجسس عيوبهم، يجب غض الطرف عن عيوب الناس بقدر المستطاع والبحث عن كمالاتهم لا عن نقائصهم..

يجب ان نفرق بين احترام الآخرين وبين عدم السماح لهم بالاساءة الينا، فالتسامح وتحمل الآخرين يعنى ان نتقبل الامور والمواقف الغير هامة ، اوالتى ليس من اختصاصنا تغييرها

اهمية التسامح واحترام الآخرين
اذا لم نتقبل الآخرين كماهم، فاننا سنظل طوال الوقت ننتقدهم ونحاول تعديلهم ليكونوا كيفما نريد،بدلا من محاولتنا تجاوز اخطاءهم وغفرانها،او ادراك انها ليس اخطاء بقدر ماهى اختلاف فى الطباع والآراء.
عندما نحترم الآخرين المختلفين عنا سنكتسب مرونة فى التفكير، ومقدرة على تقبل وجهات النظر الاخرى بصدر رحب بدون الاحساس بانها اهانة لنا

اثنان يؤمنان بدينين مختلفين احدهما بهائي والاخر مسلم، فالتسامح يعنى ان يحترم كلٍ منهم الآخر ومايعتقده من افكار وآراء ، بدون المحاولة لتشويه هذه الافكار والمعتقدات اوالاساءة اليها.
ان نحترم الآخرين المختلفين عنا يعنى الا نكرههم اونحرض الآخرين على كرههم او الاساءة اليهم .ايضا الا نتخذ اجراءات عنيفة ضدهم كالايذاء النفسي والبدنى وغيره

التسامح يعنى الا يكره ذوى البشرة السمراء كل البيض بسبب تصرف فرد واحد، وتقبل الاختلاف يعنى ان يرى ذوى البشرة البيضاء جمالاً فى اصحاب البشرة السمراء مدركين ان هذا التضاد اللونى يبرز جمال كلً منهم ويجعل العالم اكثر ثراءً. واثقين ان هذا الاختلاف فى اللون لايؤثر على الروح او اخلاقيات الانسان فجميع البشر متساوون امام الله

مدير لا يقوم بتعيين اناث فى شركته لمجرد انهن اناث وهو رجل فلايثق بقدرتهن على اداء العمل لمجرد انهن مختلفات عنه فى الجنس وبالتالى فهن يؤدين نفس العمل ولكن بطريقة آخرى مختلفة عن طريقته
تقبل الآخرين يعنى ان ندرك اننا جميعا "انسان" نحمل روحاً واحدة خلقنا الله جميعا متساويين لافرق بين رجل وإمرأة. وان هذا الاختلاف فى الجنس يعنى التكامل وليس التنافس، لذاعلينا ان نتعاون ونتشاور فى كيفية تأدية الاعمال وبالتالى سيتطور المجتمع نتيجة لذلك.

طفل يسخر من آخر لمجرد انه يرتدي نظارة
التسامح يعنى الا يكره الطفل ذو النظارة الآخر بل يحاول توضيح سبب ارتداءه لها بطريقة جميلة ، وتقبل الآخرين يجعل الطفل الآخر يسعد بصداقة ذو النظارة ويحاول مساعدته بدلا من السخرية من اختلافه

اب يشعر بالعار لان ابنه ليس كباقى الاطفال بل لديه تأخر ذهنى
التحمل يعنى تقبل هذا الاب لابنه ادراكاً منه انه لن يستطيع تغييره ابداً ، وايماناً منه ان الله خلقه هكذاوهو منحة وهديه منه، وعليه ان يساعده على الترقي ليصبح على افضل ماتؤهله له قدراته ، وليس كما يريد هو

فلنبدأ معاً بالتدرب على التسامح واحترام الآخرين متذكرين هذه الآيات الالهية

أن أنيروا قلوبكم وطهروها من أشواك الضغينة والبغضاء، إنكم أهل عالم واحد، وخُلقتم بكلمة واحدة، فطوبى لنفس تُعاشر كل الأنام بتمام المحبة والوئام"

كونوا في غاية الاتحاد، لا تغضبوا من بعضكم البعض أبداً.... أحبوا الخلق لوجه الله لا لأنفسهم، ولأنكم أحببتموهم لوجه الله فلن تغضبوا منهم، فالبشر بعيدون عن الكمال ولابد من وجود نقص فى كل إنسان. إذا نظرتم إلى النفوس فسوف تغضبون دوماً، أما إذا نظرتم الى الله فستحبون الجميع وترأفون بهم لأجله، لأن عالم الحق عالم الكمال والرحمة التامة

من المبادئ البهائية: ازالة الهوة السحيقة بين الفقر المدقع والغنى الفاحش -الجزء1

ذكرت لنا صديقتنا الصينية انها كانت تعمل منذ سن الخامسة فى تصنيع ملابس العرائس اللعبة ،ورغم ان تلك العرائس عادة تلعب بها الصغيرات الا انها كانت محرمة عليها، والادهى انه كان يجب عليها ان تعمل طوال النهار واحيانا بعضاً من الليل لكى تحصل اسرتها على قوت يومهم!؟ على حين ان الفتيات فى الحي المجاور لسكنها كن يلعبن بنفس العرائس ويتقاذفنها واحيانا يقطعونها باستهتار ويرمينها غير مدركات ان وراء تلك العرائس ارواح ونفوس صغيرة تكد وتكدح لكى تسد رمقها بالفتات!!؟

انتابتنى غصة وحسرة من وجود هذا التفاوت الشاسع بين افراد الحى الواحد ، وتذكرت ايام طفولتى فى السودان حيث كانت المجاعة تجوب البلاد، تحصد الآف الارواح، وكيف كان الطعام شحيحاً فى الاسواق. فى تلك الايام العصيبة ومن خلال براءة هذه السن الصغيرة ادركت وجود آخرين "جياع"، وفهمت معنى فضيلة التعاون، والعطف، والخدمة،والايثار، والى اليوم برغم مرور اكثر من عشرين عاما لا ازال اتذكر صور اشباه الاطفال وهم يفحتون فى الارض بحثنا عن اى شئ يؤكل حتى ولو كان نملاً!؟

اما فى الجانب الآخر من الكرة الارضية فتتواجد المحلات والمطاعم مكدسة بما لذ وطاب ، ويتم القاء الطعام الفائض يومياً فى القمامة دون ادنى احساس بانين الجياع فى العالم!؟؟

وبسبب وجود هذا التفاوت الشاسع بين الافراد فى العالم ، جاءت تعاليم الديانة البهائية لتضع حلولا ناجعة لتلك المشكلة المستعصية التى جردت البشرية من فضائلها الانسانية.

(يا ابناء التراب : خبروا الاغنياء بانين الفقراء فى الاسحار لئلا يهلكوا من غفلتهم ويُحرموا من سدرة الاقبال)

الكتاب الاقدس جوهر ولب الآثار البهائية

الكتاب الاقدس هو أمّ الكتب في الظّهور البهائيّ، نزّل باللّغة العربية من قلم حضرة بهاءالله وهو جوهر ولبّ الآثار البهائيّة، ويشتمل على الحدود والأحكام والنّصائح الأخلاقيّة، وأسس تشييد مؤسّسات ستعمل على إيجاد نظام عالميّ مبنيّ على مبادئ روحانيّة وأخلاقيّة. إنّه أحد آثار حضرة بهاءالله الغزيرة التي تؤلّف ما لا يقل عن مائة مجلد لو جمعت، وتمسّ مواضيع شتّى كالأحكام والمبادئ المتعلّقة بسلوك الفرد والحُكم والمجتمع، والكتابات العرفانيّة في رقيّ الأرواح ورحلتها الأبديّة نحو الله بارئها. وتُعتبر الآثار الكتابيّة المتعدّدة لحضرة الباب، وألواح حضرة عبد البهاء وتفاسيره ورسائل حضرة شوقي افندي وتفسيراته مصادر مقدّسة بالنّسبة للبهائيّين. وعلاوة على ذلك فإنّ البهائيّين يعترفون بالكتاب المقدّس والقرآن الكريم والكتب المقدّسة لسائر الأديان السّماويّة الأخرى على أنّها آثار مقدّسة.

The Báb ,The Herald of Bahá'u'lláh

Baha'is around the world observed a holy day - the Birth of the Báb - on 20 October.It is one of nine holy days on which Baha'is suspend work.
The Báb was born on 20 October, 1819 in Shiraz, Iran. His real name was 'Ali-Muhammad. He was a descendent of the prophet Muhammad through both His father and mother. He was raised by His uncle Hájí Mirzá Siyyid 'Ali, a merchant. As a child, He showed uncommon wisdom, although He received little formal schooling. He became a merchant and earned a high reputation for fairness. In 1842 He married Khadíjih-Bagum and they had one son, Ahmad, who died in infancy.

On May 23, 1844 he announced Himself to be The Báb , It is an Arabic word means “the Gate”. He proclaimed Himself to be the Promised One foretold in the great religions, and said that the Mission of His Dispensation was to alert the people to the imminent appearance of the Messenger of God awaited by all the peoples of the world, namely Bahá’u’lláh .
He was indeed a gate to the knowledge of God and to a new era in human existence. He called upon all people to purify their hearts from earthly vanities so that they could recognize Him Whom God would soon manifest.
Thousands upon thousands of people accepted the Message of The Báb and began to follow His Teachings. But the government of Iran and the powerful clergy who ruled over the masses rose against Him. They imprisoned Him and His followers were subjected to swift and savage persecution.

On July 9, 1850 The Báb was brought before a firing squad in the barracks square of Tabríz, along with a young follower. Some 20,000 of His followers perished in a series of massacres throughout Persia. His remains were hidden by His followers and in 1899 transferred to Palestine in the sepulchre on Mount Carmel known as the Shrine of The Báb. Today, the majestic building with the golden dome, overlooking the Bay of Haifa, Israel, and set amidst beautiful gardens, is the Shrine where The Báb's earthly remains are entombed.

Although The Báb was the Herald of Bahá'u'lláh, He was also a Manifestation of God as all other previous Manifestations such as Mohammed and Jesus.

حضرة الباب

يحتفل البهائيون فى انحاء العالم بميلاد حضرة الباب المبشر بظهور حضرة بهاء الله ، وهو من الاعياد البهائية التى يحرم فيها العمل

نبذة تاريخية
:نشأته
وُلد حضرة الباب في مدينة شيراز بايران ، يوم20 أكتوبر 1819م الموافق يوم اول محرم 1235 هجرياً، واسم حضرته الحقيقي هو (على محمد) وهو ينتسب الى سلالة الرسول محمد(ص) من ابنته فاطمة.اشتهر بحسن الخلق والورع والنبوغ والحكمة منذ طفولته

:اعلان دعوته

فى يوم 23مايو 1844ميلادية الموافق 5جمادي الاولى1260هجرية، اعلن حضرته بانه رسولاً من عند الله، وانه جاء ليهيئ الناس ويخبرهم عن ظهور حضرة بهاء الله . لقد كان حضرته البوّابة لمعرفة الله و مرحلة جديدة في تاريخ البشرية.حيثُ يتحقق عصر جديد يسود فيه السلام العام. لذلك حثت تعاليم حضرة الباب على تطهير قلوب البشر من الشئونات الدنيوية لكي يكون فى استطاعتهم معرفة "من يظهره الله" والذي سيأتي قريباً
آمن آلاف البشر من مختلف الطبقات الاجتماعية والعلمية والخلفيات الدينية برسالته، وتعاليمه الالهية، الا ان حكومة ايران ورجال الدين قاوموا رسالته بكل شراسه واضطهدوا المؤمنين بها وعذبوهم وقتلوا الآلاف منهم
لم يؤثر ذلك على ثبات حضرة الباب بل استمر فى تبليغ ما امره به الله تعالى بكل شجاعة واقدام ،وبالرغم من حبسه وسجنه الا انه استمر فى انزال الآيات الالهية التى تربي الارواح وترقي النفوس، وكانت سرعة بيانه وحلاوتها وعظمة تفسيراته وعمقها ومناجاته البليغة تدهش المستمعين،وتعتبر من البراهين الساطعة على الهامه الالهي

فاعبد الله، بحيث لو كان الجزاء على عبادتك النّار، لا تفتر عن عبادتك له. فإنّك لو عبدت الله خوفًا، فلن تليق لعتبة قدسه الإلهيّة، وكذلك لو نظرت إلى الجنّة، وعبدت الله رجاءً لها، فقد جعلت خلق الله شريكًا له

بعد مرور ست سنوات من التبليغ بدون توقف ، امرت حكومة ايران باعدام حضرة الباب، راجية ان تطفئ نور هذه الرسالة الالهية عن طريق قتل مؤسسها، وبالفعل استشهد حضرته يوم 9 يوليو1850 ميلادية فى واقعة ذات معجزة، ثم اخذ جثمان حضرته ونقل بواسطة المؤمنين من مكان الى آخر الى ان دفن فى جبل الكرمل. ولكن لم ينطفئ نور رسالته ابداً وتحقق هدفها بظهور حضرة بهاء الله رسول الديانة البهائية

إنّي حرف من ذلك الكتاب الأعظم، ورذاذ من ذلك البحر الذّي لا ساحل له. وعند ظهوره، تتجلّى حقيقتي وأسراري ورموزي وإشاراتي، ويعرّج جنين هذا الأمر في مراتب الوجود ويفوز بمقام أحسن تقويم، ويلبس خلعة فتبارك الله أحسن الخالقين

Abolishing the Extremes of Poverty and Wealth

"One of Bahá’u’lláh’s teachings is the adjustment of means of livelihood in human society. Under this adjustment there can be no extremes in human conditions as regards wealth and sustenance. For the community needs financier, farmer, merchant and laborer just as an army must be composed of commander, officers and privates. All cannot be commanders; all cannot be officers or privates. Each in his station in the social fabric must be competent—each in his function according to ability but with justness of opportunity for all."

"Bahá’u’lláh has revealed principles and laws which will accomplish the adjustment of varying human capacities. He has said that whatsoever is possible of accomplishment in human government will be effected through these principles. When the laws He has instituted are carried out, there will be no millionaires possible in the community and likewise no extremely poor. This will be effected and regulated by adjusting the different degrees of human capacity. The fundamental basis of the community is agriculture, tillage of the soil. All must be producers. Each person in the community whose need is equal to his individual producing capacity shall be exempt from taxation. But if his income is greater than his needs, he must pay a tax until an adjustment is effected. That is to say, a man’s capacity for production and his needs will be equalized and reconciled through taxation. If his production exceeds, he will pay a tax; if his necessities exceed his production, he shall receive an amount sufficient to equalize or adjust. Therefore, taxation will be proportionate to capacity and production, and there will be no poor in the community."

The majority of the world's population lives in dire poverty and misery. This imbalance exists both within nations and between nations. Moreover, the gap that separates rich and poor continues to widen, which indicates that existing economic systems are incapable of restoring a just balance.

All degrees of income should be established within absolute limits. There must be, on the one hand, a minimum income level that meets the basic needs for human well-being and of which all are assured. If, for whatever reason (incapacity or other misfortune), individuals are unable to meet their essential needs, they would be assisted by community institutions. On the other hand, there should be an absolute maximum income level that would prevent extreme accumulations of wealth.

The Bahá'í teachings envision that economic justice and prosperity will come about only when the essential connection between the spiritual and practical aspects of life is recognized.

The International Children’s Art Competition was organized by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs in collaboration with the Department of Public Information and the United Nations Postal Administration to commemorate the INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ERADICATION OF POVERTY and the first UNITED NATIONS DECADE FOR THE ERADICATION OF POVERTY. The children were to design a United Nations stamp on the theme “WE CAN END POVERTY.”

Over 12,000 children from all over the world participated in the Competition. Through their artwork, the children demonstrated enormous creativity, skills, thoughtfulness and concern for the poor. They show us that poverty is a multidimensional phenomenon and a variety of actions can lead to its eradication.

Trying to depict the theme of the Competition “We can end poverty” the majority of children tell us that the richer countries and individuals should help those in need. They depict solidarity, cooperation and fairness as key values indispensable for ending poverty. Many children point to the existence of inequality and divisions in the world and suggest greater sharing and unity. Many give emphasis to the importance of love and compassion. Numerous entries depict the significance of education for poverty eradication. Children from developing countries often show the importance of small-scale farming for self-sufficiency. Many children think that employment, urbanization and the promotion of technology can help end poverty. A number of children, in particular children from countries in conflict, stress that the world needs peace and security to end poverty.

اقامت منظمة الامم المتحدة مسابقة بين الاطفال من سن 5-15 سنة لتصميم طابع تذكارى بمناسبة اليوم العالمي للقضاء على الفقر

يجب ان يعبر تصميم الطابع عن هذا المعنى: نستطيع معا القضاء على الفقر

هذا وقد شارك اكثر من 12.000 طفل من مختلف انحاء العالم، ومن خلال رسومات هؤلاء الاطفال يخبرونا عن اسباب تفشي الفقر وطرق مبتكرة لحلوله

استطاع الاطفال ان يبرزوا مسئولية الدول الغنية والافراد الاغنياء عن الحد من الفقر عن طريق تقديم المساعدات الفعالة، ايضا الحد من التسلح وارساء العدالة بين افراد البشر، والتعاون والمشاركة والمحبة، والخدمة هى من انجعل الطرق لانهاء الفقر من العالم.

كما اشار بعض الاطفال الى اهمية التعليم كوسيلة فعالة ،كما يعتقد آخرين بقدرة الوسائل العلمية والتكنولوجية على الحد من الفقر عن طريق استخدامها فى زيادة الغذاء وتحسين الصحة وغيرها.

أما الاطفال الذين يعيشون فى مناطق النزاعات فقد صرحوا بالوانهم وتصميماتهم عن حقيقة ان تحقيق السلام العالمي وتوفيرالامان هو الوسيلة الاكثر اهمية لمحو الفقر نهائيا من على وجة الارض

Unity in Diversity

Bahá'ís believe in three core principles:
The Oneness of God, The Oneness of Religion and The Oneness of Humanity.

The Oneness of God:

God is un­knowable in His Essence:

Bahá'ís believe that there is one supernatural being,God, who has created all the creatures and forces in the universe; God is omnipotent, omniscient, and perfect; and that Although people may have different concepts of God's nature, although they may pray to Him in different languages and call Him by different names--Allah or Yahweh, God or Brahma--nevertheless, they are speaking about the same unique Being.

“All-praise to the unity of God, and all-honor to Him, the sovereign Lord, the incomparable and all-glorious Ruler of the universe, Who, out of utter nothingness, hath created the reality of all things, Who, from naught, hath brought into being the most refined and subtle elements of His creation, and Who, rescuing His creatures from the abasement of remoteness and the perils of ultimate extinction, hath received them into His kingdom of incorruptible glory. Nothing short of His all-encompassing grace, His all-pervading mercy, could have possibly achieved it.”

Bahá’u’lláh explains that God is un­knowable in His Essence. This means that people should not make images of God in their minds, thinking of Him, for example, as a man. In general, that which has been cre­ated cannot understand its creator.

For instance, a table cannot understand the nature of the carpenter who made it. The carpenter’s existence is totally incomprehensible to the objects he makes.

“How wondrous is the unity of the Living, the Ever-Abiding God--a unity which is exalted above all limitations, that transcendeth the comprehension of all created things.... How lofty hath been His incorruptible Essence, how completely independent of the knowledge of all created things, and how immensely exalted will it remain above the praise of all the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth!”

God is the Creator of all things. He has made the heavens and earth, with its mountains and valleys, its de­serts and seas, its rivers, its meadows and trees. God has created the animals and God has created the human be­ing. The reason behind our creation, is love.:

“O Son of Man! I loved thy creation, hence I created thee. Wherefore, do thou love Me, that I may name thy name and fill thy soul with the spirit of life.”

The Eternal Covenant

So although God’s existence is far be­yond our understanding, His love touches our lives and our beings ceaselessly. The way this love flows to us is through His Eternal Covenant. According to this Eternal Covenant, God never leaves us alone and without guid­ance. Whenever humanity moves away from Him and for­gets His Teachings, a Manifestation of God appears and makes His Will and Purpose known to us.

The Manifestation of God

The word “manifest” means to reveal, to bring forth something that was not known before. The Manifestations of God are those special Beings Who reveal to humanity the Word and the Will of God; thus when we listen to Them, we are responding to the Call of God.

Example:
There is an example from the physical world that helps us to understand the concept of “Manifestation” as taught by Bahá’u’lláh. In this world, the sun is the source of all warmth and light, without which life would not exist on the planet. Yet the sun itself does not descend to earth, and if we tried to approach it, we would be totally consumed.
But suppose we take a well-polished mirror and point it towards the sun. In it we will see the image of the sun, and the more perfectly polished the mirror, the more perfect the image will be.

The Mani­festations of God are like perfect Mirrors that reflect the Light of God in all its Splendor. And all these Mirrors re­flect the same Light.
While God is beyond our reach, these perfect Beings come to us from time to time, live among us, give us guidance, and fill us with the energy we need to progress, materially and spiritually.

“Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth is a direct evidence of the revelation within it of the attributes and names of God, inasmuch as within every atom are enshrined the signs that bear eloquent testimony to the revelation of that Most Great Light.... To a supreme degree is this true of man.... For in him are potentially revealed all the attributes and names of God to a degree that no other created being hath excelled or surpasssed.... And of all men, the most accomplished, the most distinguished, and the most excellent are the Manifestations of the Sun of Truth. Nay, all else besides these Manifestations, live by the operation of their Will, and move and have their being through the outpourings of their grace.”

Bahá’u’lláh is The Manifestation of God for this Age

Bahá'u'lláh explained, that the essential connection between the individual and God is maintained through the writings and words of each Manifestation. Theses Manifestations teach the same truth. The only difference between them is that each have appeared in a different time in the history of humanity in order to help people to be educated according to the needs of that time. Bahá’u’lláh’s Teachings are in perfect harmony with the Teachings of all previous religions, such as Christianity, and Islam, but they address the condition of humanity today.

“This is the Day in which God’s most excellent favors have been poured out upon men, the Day in which His most mighty grace hath been infused into all created things. It is incumbent upon all the peoples of the world to reconcile their differences, and, with perfect unity and peace, abide beneath the shadow of the Tree of His care and loving-kindness.”

ان الزهد أو الانقطاع عما دون الله ليس معناه عدم السعي واكتساب الرزق ، او عدم امتلاك الاشياء المادية كالمال و...الخ . بل معناه الا يتعلق القلب والروح والنفس بهذه الشؤون المادية لتكون هى الشاغل الاساسي والهدف الاوحد لحياة الانسان. لذلك قد يكون الانسان زاهدا وهو يملك ثروات لا تحصى ، وقد يكون غريقا فى بحر المادية حتى ولو لم يملك مليما واحدا.

ان الزهد أو الانقطاع هو تسخير جميع الاشياء الدنيوية المادية الزائلة لتكون وسائل وطرق لخدمة الله وترقى روح الانسان واكتسابه للفضائل والكمالات الالهية الباقية كالامانة والخدمة والمحبة و...الخ

ان تربية ابنائنا على هذه المفاهيم، تجعلهم يدركون ويميزون بين ماهو دائم وماهو زائل فى حياتهم، اى اننا بذلك نمنحهم المقياس الذي يقيسون به ويرتبون به اولوياتهم فى الحياة وبالتالى يستطيعوا ان ينتقوا دائما وبكل سهولة الطريق المطابق للتعاليم الالهية عندما يواجههم الاختيار اثناء رحلتهم فى الحياة

International children's painting competition focuses on climate change

Nairobi, 17 July 2008 – Climate Change: Our Challenge is the theme of the 18 th International Children's Painting Competition, which was launched today by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

This year, the children's paintings will focus on climate change, from the impact of global warming on our planet to concrete actions everyone can take - - such as using renewable energy and energy saving light bulbs, sharing vehicles and using public transport, planting trees, and many other steps.

Children from around the world aged 5 to 13 are encouraged to take part in this global competition which is gaining momentum every year. An unprecedented 15,550 entries from 90 countries around the world were submitted for last year's award.

The competition is organized every year by UNEP and the Japan-based Foundation for Global Peace and Environment (FGPE), Bayer and Nikon Corporation. Since its creation in 1991, the competition has received more than 190,000 entries from children in over 100 countries.

One global winner and six regional winners will be selected, with a cash prize of US$ 2,000 for the global winner and US$1,000 for the others. All the winners will get a fully paid trip with a chaperone to the 2009 Tunza International Children's Conference.

This year's theme was announced as the twenty winners of the 2008 UNEP Chinese Children's Painting Competition visited Nairobi to receive their awards from UNEP Executive Director Achim Steiner. The twenty children will take part in cultural activities and visit environmental spots in Kenya such as Maasai Mara and Lake Nakuru to learn more about the environment.

They will also create a giant canvas painting entitled "Our Environment" which will be presented to the Executive Director as a mark of their commitment to the environment.

Participants should submit their paintings by 15 January 2009 to the UNEP office in their regions. Aside from the global winners, there will be regional winners for Africa, Asia and the Pacific, West Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, and North America .

The regional winners will be announced on 22 April 2009 and the global winners will be announced at the venue of the 2009 Tunza International Children's Conference (venue and dates to be confirmed later).

ان مبدأ الوحدانية هو اهم وأعظم مبدأ جائت به الرسل على مر الزمن، فهو المحور التى تدور حوله جميع الاديان، وهو اصل العقيدة فى جميع الشرائع السماوية فالدين والتوحيد مترادفان، فكل دين الهي مبني اساساً على مبدأ الوحدانية المحضة لله عز وجل

ولكن ما هو التوحيد؟
التوحيد أو وحدانية الله هو اليقين العقلي والقلبي بأن الله هو الخالق لهذا الكون، وهو الاحد الواحد، وهو ذات الغيب المنيع لا سبيل لمعرفة كينونته وذاته العليا. فنحن خلق الله لا نستطيع ادراك كنه خالقنا مهما بلغ تصورنا
:مثال

لا تستطيع اللوحة ان تعرف طبيعة او كنه الرسام الذى قام برسمها
لا تستطيع السيارة ان تدرك جوهر او حقيقة المهندس الذى صممها
كذلك نحن البشر( وايضا الرسل) لا يمكن باى حال من الاحوال ان ندرك اى تصور لله، ذات الغيب المنيع

إن جميع الأنبياء والاوصياء والعلماء والعرفاء والحكماء قد أقروا بعدم بلوغ معرفة ذلك الجوهر الذى هو جوهر الجواهر، وأذعنوا بالعجز عن العرفان والوصول الى تلك الحقيقة التى هى حقيقة الحقائق

ان غيب الهوية وذات الاحدية كان مقدساً عن البروز والظهور، والصعود والنزول والدخول والخروج ومتعالياً عن وصف كل واصف وادراك كل مدرك... لأن جميع من فى السموات والأرض قد وُجدوا بكلمة أمره وبُعثوا من العدم البحت والفناء الصرف الى عرصة الشهود والحياة بارادته

ولكن كيف نؤمن بخالق لا سبيل لنا اليه ولا امل فى معرفة حقيقته وكنه ذاته؟
لقد اودع الله سبحانه وتعالى فى قلب كل منا قابلية وقدرة على الاستشعار الغريزى والادراك العقلى المنطقى لوحدانية الخالق، وذلك من خلال الآثار والدلالات المودعة فى الانسان نفسه وفى جميع الكائنات وفى الكون كله

" فقد أودع الله فى كل شئ آيات عظمته واقتداره "

وايضا نؤمن بالله ونعرفه عن طريق: رسل الله
فمن رحمة الله تعالى انه لا يترك خلقهِ دون هداية ابداً لذلك اقتضت حكمته الالهية ارسال الرسل تباعاً الى مالا نهاية لهداية البشر الى معرفته والايمان به، وارشادهم الى نهجه القويم

وحدة الرسل

ان الرسل هم تلك النفوس الخيرة المميزة التى اصطفاها الله لكي ينطقون باسمه، ويحكون عنه، ويتكلمون بإذنه، ويتصرفون وفق مشيئته وإرادته. ويصفونه لنا بأجل وأسمى مايمكن للادراك البشري ان يعي أو يتصور فى عالم الوجود من الاسماء والصفات الحسنى والصفات العليا، وهم فى نفس الوقت يقدمون لنا المثل الأعلى فى التحلي بهذه الصفات من جلال وجمال وقوة وقدرة ورحمة وحكمة وعدل ومحبة وصدق وتضحية و..الخ، لذلك يصح تسميتهم بمظاهر أمر الله لانهم يعكسون صفات ونور الله بكل جماله وكماله وعظمته ويقومون مقام الله فى هذا العالم

تعتبر الشمس هى مصدر الحياة على الارض فبدونها ستهلك جميع الكائنات، فهي تمدهم بالطاقة والحرارة والضوء الازم للنمو. وبالرغم من اهمية الشمس للكائنات الا انها لا تنزل الى الارض كما انهم لايستطيعون الاقتراب منها باى حال ولا يمكنهم بلوغها ابداً فالهلاك سيكون مصيرهم حتماً فى الحالتين . كذلك الله تعالى بدونه ليس لنا حياة بل فناء تام، ولا نستطيع ادراك كنه ابدا كما انه لا يتجسد لنا ولا يعيش بيننا ابداً

ولكن اذا اخذنا مرآة مصقولة لامعة ووجهناها نحو الشمس ستعكس صورة الشمس بكل بهائها وضيائها وحرارتها حتى ليخيل للرائي انها الشمس الحقيقية الا انها فى الحقيقة مجرد مرآة كاملة الصقل
كذلك الرسل هم المرايا الصافية الكاملة الوحيدة التى لديها القدرة على عكس صفات وخواص الله ، ولكن يظلون مجرد رسل لله او مظاهر امر الله ولا يمكن باى حال من الاحوال ان يرتقوا الى نفس مرتبه الله ذات الغيب المنيع

وعلى ذلك قد تختلف اشكال المرايا، ومقدار ما تعكسه من آشعة الشمس ولكن تظل حقيقتها واحدة انها: مرايا
وبالمثل جميع رسل الله أو مظاهر امر الله حقيقتهم واحدة وجلالهم واحد ولكن يختلفون فى: اسمائهم واشكالهم، وطبيعة رسالتهم وطريقة نشرها وتشريعاتها ومقدار ما يقدمونه من عرفانيات عن ذات الغيب المنيع، كلٍ على حسب مقتضيات الزمان والمكان وتطور ادراك الانسان
وبتوجهنا الى مظاهر امر الله وبايماننا بهم فى كل مرة يرسلهم الله الينا وحبنا وطاعتنا لهم ، انما نتوجه الى الله ونؤمن به ونحبه ونطيعه من خلال هذه الكينونات المقدسة النورانية التى تسري فيهم روح واحدة وحقيقة واحدة مستمدة من الله الواحد الاحد

فنحن نوحد الله الواحد الاحد من خلال حَملة رسالته الينا (الرسل او مظاهر امر الله)، ونُحملهم بدورنا رسالة حبنا وولائنا واخلاصنا لله عز وجل، ومن هنا تبرز اهمية الايمان برسول الوقت (اى الرسول الذى يرسله الله كل فترة زمنية مناسبا لتطور العصر) باعتباره مظهر وحدانية الله الذي به تظهر سلطنة الله واقتداره، وعظمته وكبرياؤه.ففي الايمان به والالتفاف حوله والامتثال لتعاليمه وأحكامه توحيد لله الأحد، وتوحيد للجنس البشري فى التوجه الى وجهة واحدة، والنظر الى منظر واحد وعبادة معبود واحد هو الله لا اله الا هو
وذلك هو كمال التوحيد: وحدانية الله ، وحدة الرسل ، وحدة الجنس البشري

وعلى ذلك فان حضرة بهاء الله هو المظهر الالهي الذى ارسله الله برسالة الهية جديدة تتوافق مع جوهر الرسالات السابقة وفى نفس الوقت تتناسب مع تطور العصر الحالي
إن هذا اليوم هو يوم الفضل الأعظم و الفيض الأكبر، على جميع أهل العالم أن يُصلحوا فيما بينهم من اختلافات، وفي غاية الوحدة والسلام وبكمال الإتحاد والاتفاق أن يسكنوا ويستريحوا في ظلّ سدرة العناية الإلهية

The Bahá'í Faith

The Bahá'í Faith is the youngest of the world's independent religions. Its founder, Bahá’u’lláh(1817-1892), is regarded by Bahá'ís as the most recent in the line of Messengers of God that stretches back beyond recorded time and that includes Abraham, Moses, Buddha, Krishna, Zoroaster, Christ and Muhammad.

The aim of the Bahá’í Faith is to unify humanity. Bahá’ís believe that, we are the fruits of one tree and the leaves of one branch. Although we differ from one another physically and emotionally, although we have different talents and capacities, we all spring from the same root; we all belong to the same human family.
“Ye are the fruits of one tree, and the leaves of one branch.”

The Bahá'í Faith in Egypt

The Baha'i Faith came to Egypt; in 1864. Two Persian Merchants introduced the Faith in Egypt and then Few Egyptians became Bahá’ís.
During 1910 – 1913 : ‘Abdu’l-Bahá , the son of the Profit founder of the Baha'i Faith came to Egypt. He visited and stayed in several cities; Port Said, Ismá`íliyyah, Al Mansoura,Tanta, Cairo, and Alexandria.

Bahá’u’lláh’s Life

Bahá’u’lláh was born in 1817 in Tihrán, the capital of Iran. From His early childhood, He showed signs of greatness. He received some instruction at home, but did not need to attend school, for He was endowed by God with innate knowledge. Bahá’u’lláh came from a noble family and when He was a young man, was offered a high position in the court of the King, but He refused it. He wished to dedicate His time to helping the oppressed, the sick and the poor, and to champion the cause of justice.

There are two aspects of Bahá’u’lláh’s life.

One is the suffering He endured.

The other is the tremendous influence He had on the hearts and minds of people.

These actually characterize the lives of all the Manifesta­tions of God.

Bahá’u’lláh’s sufferings began the mo­ment He arose to proclaim the Cause of God. His life was one of exile, imprisonment and persecution. He was put in chains in a dark and dismal dungeon in Tihrán He was exiled four times from land to land, finally being sent to the Prison City of ‘Akká in the Ottoman Empire. So in­tense were His sufferings there that He has referred to ‘Akká as the “Most Great Prison”.

“The Ancient Beauty hath consented to be bound with chains that mankind may be released from its bondage, and hath accepted to be made a prisoner within this most mighty Stronghold that the whole world may attain unto true liberty. He hath drained to its dregs the cup of sorrow, that all the peoples of the earth may attain unto abiding joy, and be filled with gladness. This is of the mercy of your Lord, the Compassionate, the Most Merciful. We have accepted to be abased, O believers in the Unity of God, that ye may be exalted, and have suffered manifold afflic­tions, that ye might prosper and flourish.” Bahá’u’lláh

Two powerful courts—those of the King of Iran and the Ottoman Emperor—made every effort to oppose Bahá’u’lláh and His Teachings. But the Light of Truth is not easily extinguished. The very water that is poured on this fire to put out its flame turns into oil, and the fire burns with more intensity. Nothing could be done to stop Bahá’u’lláh’s growing influence. The farther the authorities banished Him, the greater the number of people who were attracted to His Teachings and recognized His Power and Majesty. In spite of constant persecution, Bahá’u’lláh con­tinued to reveal the Word of God for more than forty years and brought so much love and spiritual energy into this world that the final victory of His Cause is certain.

Bahá’u’lláh passed away in 1892. His Shrine, which Baha’is consider the Holiest Spot on earth, is located near the city of ‘Akká.
